Morocco's population has grown rapidly and is now 29,891,708 of which 29,840,373 are Moroccan citizens and another 51,435 are classed as foreigners. This represents an almost 15% increase in the population since 1994, according to the official Moroccan census board.
Over three and a half million people are concentrated in the greater Casablanca region (3.6 million). Another three million live in the Souss-Massa-Draa region and a similar number in Marrakech-Tensift-Al Haouz region. The rest of the population is spread out the country.
