Mr. Baker Achieves "Superbrand" Status
• Kuwait’s only bakery brand to achieve the prestigious status
• Acknowledged as one of Kuwait’s strongest brands

The well known Mr. Baker brand, owned by Sameer Saaed and Yousif Nadoum, today announced that it has been voted as a ‘Superbrand’ by the Superbrands Council of Kuwait.

The Superbrands organisation is acclaimed worldwide as the independent authority and arbiter of branding excellence and is committed to paying tribute to exceptional brands and promoting the discipline of branding based on brand quality, brand affinity and brand personality.

Superbrand status was given to Mr. Baker in recognition of its brand values, market strength, innovation, service excellence, commitment to providing customers with high quality products and its overall corporate performance. The vote consolidates Mr. Baker’s position among an exclusive set of respectable organisations that represent best practice in brand management in the investment, retail, telecommunications, IT and automotive sectors.

“We are proud to achieve this status, awarded by an internationally acclaimed organisation,” said Mr. Abdulrazzaq Abu Ghazaleh, Director of Marketing, Baker Group. "It is a prestigious acknowledgment of our performance towards growing our brands".

"When we first launched in Kuwait back 1996 we operated one Mr. Baker store; today we operate 20 different stores for Mr. Baker and are the creators and sole representatives of other recognised brands including Kanafany, Hervy, Moy Marine (yachts), RealPower and Mr Subs", he said.

"We believe that one of the key elements to our success is our approach towards our customers. We know what they want and what their expectations are, and we customize it for them. The newly achieved status only furthers our commitment to providing our valued customers with second to none quality of products and services". He concluded.

The Superbrands brand selection process starts by creating a list of major brands operating in Kuwait, then the list of some 8,000 brands is reduced to around 1,300 brands which are presented to the council members to grade candidates. The scoring then is tabulated to result in the top scoring brands being designated Superbrands.

The Superbrands council members in Kuwait comprise individuals who have shown exceptional aptitude in business and who have a thorough knowledge of Kuwait's market and methods of business. The list includes: Dr. Anas Al-Rasheed, Mr. Bader Al–Humaidhi, Mr. Khaled Al-Khaled, Ms. Maha Al-Ghunaim, Dr. Saad Al-Barrak, Ms. Nabeela Al–Anjary, Mr. Mohammed Al-Qabandi, Mr. Saleh Al-Shaya, Mr. Matt Daniels and Mr. Fadi Roueissy.

The top scoring brands will be entered in the Superbrands book for the year 2008. The Superbrands Organization is responsible for issuing an annual book in each of the countries in which it operates that lists the strongest brands in that country. Superbrands listings are not ranked as all nominated brands receive equal status.
