Military ruler General Pervez Musharraf will lead the Pakistani delegation at the forthcoming summit of Islamic countries in Qatar which will focus on the Palestinian issue, officials said Tuesday.

The three-day summit of the 56-nation Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) will open in Doha from November 12. It will be preceded by a meeting of the Islamic foreign ministers.

"Palestine is in the focus" and it will be the issue of "major concern" at the summit, foreign office spokesman Riaz Mohammad Khan said.

The foreign ministers would devote the first day of their two-day discussions on the Palestinian uprising, he said.

More than 150 people have died in bloody clashes with Israeli security forces in the Palestinian territories in the past four weeks. Most of the victims have been Palestinians.

The summit will also discuss the situation in Kashmir and other issues facing the Islamic world, the spokesman said -- ISLAMABAD (AFP)
