The Yemeni Interior Ministry is seeking to get a parliament approval for arms ownership law in a bid to "wipe out this ubiquitous notorious fashion".

Deputy Interior Minister Mutahar R. Al-Masri said that the former arms law has holes for "it exempts a broad section of the society" from registering their guns with the concerned agencies.

Almotamarnet news website expected the debate of the law to stir controversy among ruling party and opposition MPs.
