The British Airways staff in the UAE received the new uniform designed by Julien Macdonald this month. Personnel from the British Airways sales shop and the airport in Dubai and Abu Dhabi are wearing the new design that reflects the airline’s great British heritage. The uniform combines the qualities of a classic tailored pin stripe suit with the style and creative flair of its designer.
Commenting on the new uniform, Deborah Frampton, British Airways’ Manager for the UAE said, “British Airways has a strong identity and our uniform is an integral part of the brand. The new uniform will only reinforce our characteristics – professional, reassuring and proudly British – a quality brand that is recognisable around the globe.”
British Airways held a ‘grooming session’ at the Dubai International Airport for its staff to compliment the new Julien Macdonald look. The session began with an overview of the new uniform and some background information on designer Julien Macdonald. Roots Salon kindly sent a professional make up artist, Alison, and hair stylist, Susan to give tips on hair, make up and general grooming.
The new uniform includes contemporary details such as branded cufflinks and a striking red lining. For the first time, female staff can wear either a skirt or trousers. In creating the new design, Macdonald worked with top milliner Stephen Jones to design a hat reminiscent of pioneering aviation days. A new handbag designed by Tanner Krolle of London, finishes off the stylish new uniform.
