According to JANA, the new President of Burundi, Pierre Nkurunziza, expressed his profound gratitude and appreciation to the constant and tireless efforts made by the Leader of the Revolution during the talks that took long years for the sake of peace and stability in this African country .
This came during his reception of the Secretary of the African Union Affairs at the General People's Committee for Foreign Liaison and International Co-operation in the celebration held on Friday in the Burundian capital, Bujumbura on the occasion of his sworn in as the new President of Burundi where the Secretary conveyed to him the congratulations of the Leader of the Revolution on this occasion.
President of Burundi asked the Secretary to convey his greetings to the Leader, praising the pioneering role played by the Leader for the pride and progress of the African continent which was crowned with the establishment of the great African Union, in addition to the Leader's constant efforts to promote its march towards the establishment of the United States of Africa.
The Burundian President stressed his country's desire and interest to strengthen its relations with Great Jamahiriya in various fields.
The Burundian ex-President, Domitien Ndayizeye, also received Friday the Secretary of the African Union Affairs in the Burundian capital, Bujumbura.
The Burundian ex-President expressed during the meeting his profound thanks to the Leader for his advice and support during his transitional rule that led to the realization of stability and peace in Burundi by conducting a presidential election recently where the new President of Burundi was sworn on Friday as a new President of this African country.
