New system to control energy consumption in Tunisia

During a press conference held on August 24, Affif Chelbi, the Tunisian Minister of Industry and Energy, announced the launching of a new project to control of energy consumption in the country. <i>La Presse</i> reports that the project is expected to cost 70 million dinars and the new system is envisaged to be completed by 2008. The Minister has also noted that the new mechanism will mean saving 20 % of energy used in the country.
