New Traditions – the 2011 BoConcept Collection

Taking the best from the past and putting it into a modern context, BoConcept’s 2011 Collection of furniture and accessories will be available in their Mall of the Emirates store from 23 September and their new branch in Khalidiya, Abu Dhabi, opening 30 September. With a wide range of fresh designs, colours, functionalities and customisation options, the collection offers loads of inspiration for the home.
 
The new classics
Simplicity and functionality are key aspects of many furniture pieces. Inspired by the design traditions of the 60's and 70's, the style is classic with a modern interpretation.
 
Contemporary steel legs, softened lines and bold colours bring a dynamic dimension to the well-known classic sofa. The traditional wooden chair has become comfortable, with sculptural lines and details that underline the natural look. Industrial factory lamps have been re-invented in a variety of colours for the home and functional wall systems and cabinets modernised with colourful fronts and different depths and sizes. It's intelligent and well-considered design without being boring.
 
Back to basics
The materials for the new season are inspired by nature with a genuine look and feel. Fabrics are soft and delicate - invitations to cosy evenings at home. The leather collection has been extended to meet the demand for lasting, natural materials with high-quality tan leather taking us back in time and becoming more beautiful as the years go by.
 
While white, grey and black are the dominant colours, the collection features  the new seasonal palette of vintage blue, aqua shades, coral red and orange that will breathe new life into any interior. Mixed with wood, the style is softened and more mature.
