The General Secretariat of the Jeddah-based Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) has decided to dispatch observers for following up the presidential elections in Palestine, due to be held on January 9, 2005.
A statement released by the OIC's General Secretariat said the observers team will leave Jeddah later Tuesday under the leadership of Saaduddin Al-Tayyeb, the Advisor of the OIC's Secretary General, <i>SPA</i> reported.
Members of the seven-member team will be split up at the constituencies in the West Bank and Gaza.
The team will prepare a report on the process of elections for the Palestinian Authority and the OIC's member states as well as the international concerned organizations.
