The PDO stated that it had started preparing the initial engineering designs of Qarn Al-Alam steam project which is one of the cornerstones of the company's enhanced oil recovery programme. According to Oman News Agency, this project is the world's largest scale development for steam injection in fractured carbonate using this complex and innovative mechanism.
