Algeria's second telephone operator Orascom Telecom Algeria intends to inaugurate a new phone line next month, connecting Annaba to Marseilles. Liberte Algeria reports that Orascom Telecom is planning to open another line between Algiers and Marseilles by the end of 2005. The project for opening these new lines is being carried out in partnership with the Alcatel, which provides Orascom Telecom with the equipment necessary for the implementation of this project.
