Over 60 killed and wounded in Baghdad blasts

At least 17 people were killed and 48 injured on Wednesday when twin car bombs went off in a busy market of Baghdad's Sadr City slum, police said. A third car bomb was discovered and was being defused, the police said, according to Reuters.

 

Earlier, the American military said a U.S.-Iraqi patrol has been ambushed while distributing grants to Iraqi businesses near the northern city of Kirkuk. Iraqi officials conveyed two civilians died when the Americans returned fire.
