A Palestinian boy was killed in Jenin area on Thursday by Israeli forces, Palestinian medical sources said. The victim was identified as 11 year old Ahmed al Khatib.

Meanwhile, Israel's Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz said that his country will not interfere in the upcoming Palestinian elections despite its opposition to the participation of Hamas in the ballot, Israel's Army Radio reported Thursday. In recent months, Israel has indicated that it would not accept the participation of Hamas in the vote. "This is a Palestinian issue, but Abu Mazen (PA president Mahmoud Abbas) made a commitment in Sharm el-Sheikh to lead one authority, one rule and one gun," the radio quoted Mofaz as telling U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice in a meeting between the two held Wednesday night in Washington.
