Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas was released Thursday from a West Bank hospital after reportedly undergoing medical tests, Reuters reported.
Abbas was admitted to Istishari Hospital in Ramallah earlier in the day, where a doctor said he received tests including a cardiac catheterization. The doctor said Abbas left the facility when the tests showed normal results.
At age 81, many have long suspected Abbas suffers from heart problems, though this has never been officially confirmed by the Palestinian Authority.
Abbas, also known by his kunya Abu Mazen, has held the Palestinian presidency since 2005.
