Palestinian officials said on Tuesday they would present to Israel and the US a list of more than 50 Israelis they accuse of carrying out "barbaric attacks" against the Palestinians, said agencies.
Palestinian intelligence chief for the West Bank Tawfiq Tirawi was quoted as telling Al Ayyam newspaper that the list of "terrorists" would be presented at a planned security meeting Wednesday with Israel and CIA representatives.
"The Palestinian National Authority has proof and evidence of the participation of these 50 people in barbaric crimes against the Palestinian people," Tirawi told the paper, cited by AFP.
"They will demand Israel take measures against those criminals," he said.
"If Israel does not take measures against them, they will bear the responsibility because they (the Palestinians) will not allow those settlers to rampage in the Palestinian lands."
Security officials from the two sides are due to meet on Wednesday with a CIA representative to assess the June 13 truce brokered by CIA chief George Tenet.
Palestinian general intelligence chief Amin AlHindi said Sunday that he planned to present information at the meeting specifically on those suspected of killing three members of a Palestinian family, including a baby boy, near the West Bank town of Hebron last week.
According to Israeli media, the list includes a former member of the banned extremist movement Kach, Noam Federma, who lives in Kiryat Arba settlement in Hebron.
It also includes Hagai Segal, a journalist. In the past he was jailed for being a member of the Jewish underground in the occupied Palestinians territories during the 1980s.
Baruch Marzel, a well-known right activist and a member of Kahna movement and Noam Livnat, the sister of the education minister, Limor Livnat, are also reportedly on the list.
Since the September 2000 eruption of the latest Palestinian uprising against 34 years of Israeli military occupation, the media has reported that Palestinians have killed at least 125 Israelis with weapons ranging from stones and knives to machineguns and car bombs. Israeli military sources have reported well over 600 injuries to Israelis of Jewish descent.
In the same time period, according to the UK newspaper The Guardian, Israeli soldiers and armed Jewish settlers have killed 13 Arab Israelis and 510 Palestinians with weapons ranging from machineguns and tanks to US-made Apache helicopter gunships and F-16s.
According to an Amnesty International report, nearly 100 of the Palestinians killed were children. In addition, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society has reported over 14,000 Palestinians wounded.
Jewish author Noam Chomsky, who according to a New York Times Book Review article is “arguably the most important intellectual alive,” has been quoted as saying: “State terrorism is an extreme form of terrorism, generally much worse than individual terrorism because it has the resources of a state behind it.” – Albawaba.com
