The event, developed by Dubai Municipality as a platform to share strategies, explore global best practice and find companies who can deliver innovative waste management solutions to the region, has chosen the Dubai Media City Venue for its state-of-the-art facilities, including the purpose-built conference centre.
“The fact that the MEWS has chosen Palladium further underlines the excellent and unique facilities we have, which can be adapted to meet the needs of all customers,” said Raymond Gasper, CEO of The Palladium. “We hope this is the first of many events of this kind to take advantage of our venue.”
It is the second edition of MEWS, following a successful launch last year. Hosted by Turret Middle East, the conference running from 18-20 May will also feature an exhibition showcasing the latest industry solutions and services.
The UAE has been actively taking measures to reduce the amount of waste it produces and last year opened the region’s largest medical waste treatment plant, as well as awarding a $300 million contract for the operation of a demolition waste facility and another to rebuild and operate a tyre recycling plant.
“With recycling and green issues at the heart of all construction and domestic issues in the UAE, this summit will help the country forge ahead with solutions to manage the growing waste problem. The Palladium as the ideal venue to host the summit as the diversity of the complex allows us to meet all the delegates and exhibitors’ needs,” said Chris Fountain, Managing Director of Turret Middle East.
