Stuart Maughan, Palm Middle East regional sales manager, said, “With the recent re-acquisition of the Palm brand, the team is looking forward to getting in front of consumers and answering any questions users might have. The LifeDrive mobile manager has been warmly received in Europe, and we are eager to demonstrate all its features and benefits to GITEX attendees and give them the opportunity to interact with the new product. We look forward to seeing you at our stand, Hall 3 Stand K3-1, and showcasing Palm devices as true lifestyle products”
During the exhibition, a number of Palm local partners will be demonstrating software solutions both for personal and business use. These will include a full suite of Arabic software, wireless solutions for companies to maximise their investment, and on the entertainment side even a Karaoke application.
Attendees will have the chance to see the Treo 650 smartphone, which sets standards for messaging and email, with its QWERTY keyboard and VersaMail® software, which allows both consumers and business people mobile access to email including the option to send and receive attachments. Support for Microsoft ActiveSync also is included for corporate users who are using a Microsoft 2003 server. The LifeDrive mobile manager, an innovative product that fuses business productivity tools and entertainment applications, offers 4GB of hard-drive storage (3.85GB user available), a large 320x480 high-resolution color screen, and wireless access through built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth® wireless technologies.
In addition, Palm also will be showcasing a number of third-party push email and mobile management solutions. Maughan went on to say, “We would urge companies who are looking at mobility to stop by. Presentations will be done on the stand daily, and presentation times will be posted on the stand. Some of the companies taking part in the presentations will be Sybase, Good, Dexterra, Synergy and Informobility. Palm will also be launching a new channel program to offer incentives to the retailers and dealers to drive Palm product sales.”
