British ISIS terrorist Jihadi John has been targeted by the US military in a drone strike.
While The Pentagon are still assessing the strike, US sources have said they are "confident" he is dead.
Prime Minister David Cameron has welcomed the reported killing of Jihadi John in the airstrike by US military as “a strike at the heart” of terror group ISIS.
He also praised the US, saying the Britain has “no better friend”.
"He posed an ongoing and serious threat to innocent civilians, not only in Syria but in the UK and around the world too. Let us not forgot that he killed many, many Muslims too. Today I want to thank the United States. The UK has no better friend," the British Prime Minister said during a press conference.
Mr Mohammed Shafiq, chief executive of the Ramadhan Foundation - a Muslim organisation based in Greater Manchester - said the reported killing was “a significant moment in the fight to get justice for David Haines, Alan Henning and all the victims of this evil man”.
Charlie Winter, a leading security analyst, has said that if Jihadi John has been killed it will put would-be extremists off from travelling to Syria “out of a sense of adventure”.
