As part of its Mother’s Day and International Women’s Day celebrations, PepsiCo-Jordan – the winner of the King Abdullah II Award for Excellence/Private Sector – organized a commemorative event at the Le Meridian Hotel in Amman entitled ‘A Woman From My Country’ to celebrate the achievements and success of Jordanian mothers and women. The event was attended by a number of organizations who took part in the event’s activities, a group of notable women from the Jordanian community, and various media representatives.
The one-day event comprised of a number of different activities including a fashion show that was organized by Khawla Hourani, an active advocator of social work, and was modeled by a group of women with speech and hearing disabilities. In addition to the fashion show, a talk show, a number of traditional Jordanian dance pieces, and an exhibition of traditional and modern hand crafts organized by a group of societies active in the area of development also took place. The closing of the day’s activities was marked by a breakfast buffet.
This event was organized by PepsiCo-Jordan in line with the company’s efforts towards showcasing its appreciation for the Jordanian woman, enhancing her presence in the local community, and motivating her to continue to actively participate in a number of sectors, all of which stems from PepsiCo’s belief in the vital role that Jordanian women play in the development and shaping of future generations.
