Peres sees Moroccan role in Middle East peace process

Israel's Deputy Prime Minister Shimon Peres said he believes Morocco could have an important role in easing tensions in the Middle East region. In an interview with the Thursday's edition of the Moroccan Le Matin newspaper, the veteran Israeli politician said "Morocco could serve as a bridge between us and the Arab world."

 

Rabat suspended relations with Tel Aviv in October 2000 a short time after the start of the Palestinian uprising against Israeli occupation.
