ALBAWABA - A report by the Israeli news provider Walla! revealed that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu might decide on the fate of Herzi Halevi as army chief, where he might have been pressured to replace him with General Eyal Zamir.

Israeli security sources told Walla! that tension is at all times high between Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and Chief of the General Staff Herzi Halevi, adding that pressure continues to mount on Netanyahu to sign off on a long-term ceasefire in Gaza, which will more likely mean appointing Eyal Zamir as the new chief of staff.

Additionally, the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation (KAN) reported that PM Netanyahu had secretly ratified having Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, as part of the Israeli War Cabinet.

According to the Israeli news website Walla!, Netanyahu informed the chairman of the Jewish Power party, which has six of the 120 seats in the Knesset, that the War Cabinet would not meet again following the withdrawal of two members, Benny Gantz and Gadi Eisenkot, from the State Camp party.

Netanyahu also considered telling Ben-Gvir before the security-political Cabinet discussions. A source close to Netanyahu told the Israeli website Walla!, "In any case, we will not include Ben-Gvir in a shrunken security council because he does not know how to keep a secret,".

Meanwhile, CIA Director William Burns and Mossad Director David Barnea will be heading to Doha, Qatar on Wednesday to discuss the latest proposed ceasefire deal.

Burns is due to meet with Qatar's Prime Minister, the director of the Israeli Mossad, and the head of Egypt's intelligence service in an effort to advance the plan that might result in the release of 120 hostages held by Hamas in Gaza put an end to the ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza.
