President Assad holds talks in Algeria

Syrian President Bashar Assad arrived in Algeria on Saturday for two-day talks on Iraq and the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. 

 

Shortly after his arrival to Houari Boumediene international airport, the Syrian president was greeted by the Algerian president Abdelaziz Bouteflika in presence of Abdelkader Bensalah, president of the council of nation, Karim Younes, president of the national people's assembly (Apn), Ali Benflis, head of government, general in-chief of the national army, Mohamed Lamari (Anp) and Ahmed Ouyahia, minister of state and the personal representative of the president of the republic.  

 

Later, Assad discussed with his Algerian peer, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, regional and international developments and bilateral relations, the official Algerian news agency, APS said.  

 

Assad is accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Foreign Minister Farouk al-Sharaa. (Albawaba.com)
