The preview of the film “Le pain nu,” adapted from Moroccan writer Mohamed Choukri’s novel and directed by Algerian Rachid Benhadj, back on the cinematographic stage following a ten-year absence, was held Sunday evening at Ibn Zeidoun theatre (Algiers), in the presence of Culture Minister Khalida Toumi.
According to APS, during the event, Rachid Benhadj took the Algerian audience to places and times described by the Moroccan writer in his novel “Le pain nu,” which was published in 1960. The novel was banned in the past because it has described in “a libertarian and cheeky way” problems experienced by the Moroccan people in the 1950s.
