ALBAWABA- Jordan’s King Abdullah II on Wednesday received Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Amman, marking the Emir’s first foreign visit since Israeli airstrikes targeted Doha on September 9.
Sheikh Tamim arrived at Marka Airport, where he was welcomed with an official ceremony before heading to Basman Palace for talks.
He was accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, and other senior officials.
During their meeting, King Abdullah expressed Jordan’s “full solidarity with Qatar” in the wake of what he described as a “treacherous Israeli attack,” affirming support for measures taken to preserve Qatar’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Sheikh Tamim vowed that Qatar would take “all necessary steps” to defend its security and sovereignty against further aggression.
The leaders discussed strengthening economic and investment ties, regional stability, and joint efforts to support the Palestinian people in securing their legitimate rights.
Both stressed the importance of political solutions to regional crises to safeguard security and stability.
