Qatar is free of foot-and-mouth disease that spread in several neighboring Gulf states, reported the Gulf Times newspaper on Tuesday.
The paper said that a special team assigned to monitor animal health has reported that not a single case of foot-and-mouth disease was found in all the farms inspected in the country.
The team said in its second report that “107 farms, 1,120 country estates, and 91 fences were inspected and no case of foot-and-mouth disease was recorded.”
The team affirmed that all precautionary measures were made to ensure no infected animal is allowed to enter the country from abroad, the paper added.
