Ras Al Khaimah Investment Authority (RAKIA), a major provider of investment opportunities and one-stop solutions in its Free Zones, Industrial Parks and Offshore facilities as well as in Real Estate developments and other ventures, has announced its participation in Alimentaria exhibition 2010 to be held from 22-26 March 2010 at Fira de Barcelona in Barcelona, Spain. On its 28 square metre stand (D-190, Pavilion-P1), RAKIA will be promoting Ras Al Khaimah and RAKIA’s concept of themed industry sectors to attract specialised industries to its Free Zones and Industrial Parks.

Alimentaria is the most important international food and beverage exhibition in Spain and one of the leading international events of this type. In its eighteenth edition, the show will again present the latest products from the international food and beverage industry, distribution channels and consumer tastes. Alimentaria 2010 expects to bring together 4,000 leading food and beverage manufacturers and distributors, and anticipates that close to 130,000 professional buyers from more than 155 countries will attend. 85% of the Spanish food and beverage industry is expected to attend the event; around 94,500 square metres are dedicated to exhibition space and associated activities.

Raed Mustafa, General Manager Industrial Parks, RAKIA, stated: “We believe that Alimentaria will give us very good access to the food & beverage market in Spain and internationally. The strategy behind our presence there is to create awareness about Ras Al Khaimah and RAKIA and the unique business opportunities we have to offer. We want to attract specialised companies in the food & beverage sector to become a part of our dedicated industrial cluster for food related industries. Alimentaria is a very suitable platform to reach the key players of this industry, and we look forward to being there.”
