Record breaking operator registrations for East Africa Com 2010 Congress

East Africa Com 2010, the only dedicated congress for telecommunications professionals from across the whole of East Africa, is currently exceeding all expectations with over 140 operators already registered to participate. The 2009 event was so successful that for 2010 it will take place in a new, larger and more central venue - Nairobi’s Kenyatta International Conference Centre. With nine weeks left in which to register numbers are already outstripping even 2009 standards – by an amazing 400%. This year, over 1000 participants are expected in Nairobi at the end of April with representation from the whole telecommunications sector, to learn, discuss & network at the senior-level conference with over 17 C-level operator representatives.
Companies who have already registered include: Zain Group, Essar Group, Safaricom, MTN (Uganda), Orange (Kenya & Uganda), Africa Online Group, Uganda Telecom, Vodacom (Mozambique), Canartel (Sudan), Tempo Africell Burundi, Hormuud Tel (Somalia), CCK (Kenya), TCRA (Tanzania), Zantel (Tanzania), Zain Tanzania, Flashcom (Kenya), ITU Africa (Ethiopia), GSMA Africa, Karibu Telecom (Kenya), Afsat Communications (Kenya), Intersat Africa (Kenya), Rapid Communications (Kenya) and others. Furthermore, the Honourable Samuel Poghisio, Minister of ICT in Kenya will be attending at the head of a delegation in support of the East Africa Com event.
Over two days of dedicated discussion, learning and networking, operators will discuss their business strategies going forward, new technologies with which to offer broadband, value-added services, network optimisation and cost-effective business models with which to compete in such a dynamic and changing market.
East Africa Com is the only annual event dedicated to the communications markets of East Africa, and has become the meeting place for operators (fixed, mobile, wireless), ISPs, regulators, investors and vendors from the region to debate the opportunities and challenges facing the telecommunications industry in their markets and to meet their peers.
In addition, an exhibition will showcase the latest innovations from over 50 telecoms companies present in the region, and will offer many opportunities to network, share ideas and make business contacts.
