The International Committee of the Red Cross said Wednesday that Israel's so-called West Bank separation fence in its current form is a "violation of international humanitarian law", according to Reuters.
"The ICRC's opinion is that the West Bank Barrier, in as far as its route deviates from the 'Green Line' into occupied territory, is contrary to IHL (international humanitarian law)," the ICRC said in a statement.
Meanwhile, three senior US envoys are expected to visit Israel on Wednesday and Thursday to meet prime minister Ariel Sharon and be briefed on his so-called Palestinian territories "disengagement" plan, the Washington Post reported.
Steve Hadley and Elliot Abrams from the White House staff and William Burns from the State Department are expected to start working out "understandings" between the US and Israel on the framework of the plan and its timetable, Israeli government sources said. (Albawaba.com)
