An institution concerned with the rights of POWs held in Israeli prisons said Israeli authorities have arrested 3,000 Palestinian women and girls since the occupation of the west bank and the gaza strip in 1967.
A report issued by the Palestinian POWs Club pointed out that the largest arrest campaigns among the Palestinian women were witnessed between 1967 and 1976, where they were also physically and spiritually tortured and some were imprisoned for over 10 years in the Israeli prisons.
Many Palestinian females were also arrested during the Palestinian Intifada, including girls between the ages of 13 and 16, said the group. (Albawaba.com)
