An Israeli man died when his private yacht sank off the southern coast of Cyprus, authorities said Sunday. According to the AP, two other Israeli men aboard the yacht were rescued by a Syrian ship and were reportedly in good health. An Israeli official from the foreign ministry stated that the Syrian team provided a good treatment to the two survivors.
The Cyprus coast guard declared the Israeli-flagged yacht sent out an emergency signal on Sunday morning and that it sank in rough seas some eight kilometers west of the port town of Limassol.
