The 11th annual session of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy (IAO), which ended Saturday in Kiev with the participation of Cypriot members of parliament, unanimously adopted a resolution on the Cyprus problem, CNA reported.
The resolution expresses IAO's concern over the continuing division of the island and notes the necessity for a solution to be found on the basis of UN resolutions and high level agreements, in line with the acquis communautaire, thus giving the people of Cyprus the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of peace and stability, and those offered by the island's accession to the EU, the agency concluded.
