The Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the world’s fastest growing hotel companies, has announced it will open the 54 room Radisson SAS Hotel, Madrid Prado in late 2009 – marking the company’s first foray into the historic Spanish city.
All rooms (including six suites), as well as all public areas, will be designed by Sandra Tarruella and Isabel Lopez – widely regarded as two of Spain’s best interior designers and the team behind leading projects such as Barcelona’s sophisticated “Hotel Omm”. The new hotel will also boast a restaurant, a bar, meeting facilities and a spa/fitness centre.
The Radisson SAS Hotel, Madrid Prado is the latest property to be announced from The Rezidor Hotel Group as it pursues its strategy of opening 20,000 new rooms in total by 2009.
“Madrid is a milestone in our history in South East Europe – a region where we see promising potential. Spain’s number one city represents a primary market and is strategically important for our further development in the country,” said Kurt Ritter, President & CEO of The Rezidor Hotel Group.
The new hotel is Rezidor’s second property in Spain after the Radisson SAS El Marques Resort & Spa in Mijas, Málaga, which opened in 2006.
All Madrid’s major attractions are within walking distance from the hotel such as the Thyssen Bornemisza Museum, the Reina Sofia Museum and the Gran Via - the main shopping and entertainment avenue.
