A pipeline supplying water to Saudi's capital, Riyadh, exploded on Wednesday morning, according to online reports.
Twitter users said the broken water pipe near Janadriyah bridge, in the city's eastern district, has left streets flooded with water.
The cause of the explosion is still unknown and no official statement has been released.
Sources at the scene say the water is still flowing rapidly.
The burst pipe is expected to seriously affect water supply to the capital.
