Romanian president Ion Iliescu concluded a two-day official visit to the United Arab Emirates during which he discussed means of fostering bilateral relations with UAE officials. Iliescu met with the UAE president Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al-Nahyan and exchanged with him high-ranking medals, said the Emirati official news agency (WAM).
The visiting Romanian president along with his accompanying delegation discussed with the UAE deputy prime minister Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed the bilateral relations and increasing the volume of trade exchange between Romania and the UAE.
The Romanian president called in a lecture for lifting the Israeli siege of the Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, “who is the legitimate representative of the Palestinian people.” (Albawaba.com)
