The Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone (RAK FTZ) launched yesterday the first license issued by the System Applications Products (SAP), which offers one of the most complete customer relationship management solutions.
The launching ceremony was attended by Sheikh Faisal bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of the RAK FTZ, Oussama El Omarim, the zone's CEO and Maryam Al Murshidi Al Shehi, the zone's Assistant Director General.
The launch of the new SAP system at the RAK FTZ has come in line with the vision of Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, the emirate's Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler who aims at developing the emirate's IT infrastructure to become a magnet for world's best and most effective business solutions to maximize the benefits of the investors and zone's registered clients.
The SAP software connects the RAK FTZ various sections and departments on a single database that performs various system tasks. This database is updated regularly and can be accessed by zone's the various departments so the services offered to the investors and the zone's registered clients will be of the world's highest quality and best standards and completed in the shortest possible time.
"I believe that with this new software, the RAK FTZ is able to push a major and prominent step forward to achieve exemplary customer satisfaction," said Sheikh Faisal. "The issuing of the first license via the new SAP software will be a key motive for the RAK FTZ to land on better success and attract even more investments to the emirate which is booming in all aspect," he added.
"We are trying to develop a business model which is sustainable and would like to create an environment where entrepreneurs from across the world can come in and translate their vision into reality with the use of the world's best possible technology," said Sheikh Faisal.
Oussama El Omarim, the zone's CEO said "In the increasingly interconnected world of today, success depends mainly on identifying the right IT tools."
He added that the launch of the new SAP System took six months of preparations into two main phases. The first phase was dedicated to training the staffers on the use of the new software, whereas the second phase was designed to collect all the possible information on the RAK FTZ's various daily operations and applications. El Omari said the use of the new SAP software would reduce the administrative work by 50 percent yearly and increase the number of companies registered with the zone.
As part of a development plan for the service sector of the RAK FTZ, El Omari explained that the zone would create a comprehensive database via the new SAP software on the internet. He added that the potential investor can follow up his application on the net, whereas the investor will receive regular and updated reports on the conditions the application and registration procedures. This will ultimately reduce the cost and increase the production value by at least 20 percent.
