The “fierce campaign of hostilities” launched by the United States media against Saudi Arabia is “deliberately orchestrated to pressure” the Kingdom into easing its firm opposition against the Israeli atrocities in the occupied Arab lands, the Saudi Ambassador to Jordan Abdul Rahman al-Ohali was quoted as saying in an interview with an Amman-based daily.

The Saudi Ambassador noted the Kingdom's strong commitment to Islam as yet another main reason for the continuous media criticism.

The Kingdom will continue to support the Palestinians, in spite of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's “unabated attempts” to present this “humanitarian support” in a “misleading” fashion and in spite of his attempts to tie this “purely human support” to the “so-called armed operations”, he added, according to Al-Arab al-Yawm daily.

With regards to Saudi-Iraqi relations, the Ambassador stated that Baghdad was a “fellow” Arab country that Saudi Arabia takes pride in and shows deep respect for its people.

However, he expressed hope that Iraq would overcome the present difficult circumstances and restore its normal role within the Arab region and the world at large. (albawaba.com)
