Saudi Arabia has denied that it has launched a major ground offensive in the Yemeni city of Aden, Reuters has reported.
A spokesmen for the Saudi-led coalition corrected the idea that ground troops had been deployed in Yemen after a Yemeni newspaper reported that an Arab force had arrived in the port city and was fighting Houthi militants.
Brigadier General Ahmed Asseri told Reuters that although the coalition would continue to assist local militias battling Houthi fighters, there were no non-Yemeni forces fighting in Aden.
He declined to comment on whether the coalition had deployed any special forces to Aden.
