Saudi Arabia’s King Fahd bin Abdelaziz has ordered the Saudi Red Crescent Society to provide urgent medical assistance to Djibouti, reported the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The assistance aims at helping hospitals there to deal with a shortage of medicines, said the agency.

The oil-rich kingdom has a rich history of such donations. Recipients include Afghanistan, Kosovo and Chechnya along with other Arab and Muslim countries.

Chairman of the society. Abdulrahman al-Suwailem has said a large quantity of medicines has already been shipped by sea to Djibouti under the directive of the Saudi monarch. (Albawaba.com)
