Saudi Defense Minister Prince Sultan bin Abdelaziz will begin a three-day visit to Yemen on Wednesday, heading his country's delegation to the Saudi-Yemeni coordination council meeting, reported the official Kuwait news agency (KUNA).

The Yemeni side will be chaired by Prime Minister Abdel-Qader Bajammal.

KUNA said that the Saudi-Yemeni talks would focus on boosting economic cooperation, as well as the situations in the Palestinian territories and the African horn.

The coordination council will tackle economic, trade, educational, health, cultural, sports and youth issues, in addition to execution of $300 million worth of Saudi-funded development projects in Yemen.

The council's meetings are coinciding with the first gathering between Saudi and Yemeni businessmen, which is expected to pave the way for greater cooperation between private sectors – Albawaba.com
