Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Saud al-Faisal concluded his visit to Syria Sunday during which he delivered a letter from Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah to Syria’s President, Bashar al-Assad.
Prince Faisal met in Latakia Sunday night with the Syrian president, where he handed over Prince Abdullah's letter, which focused on the recent Arab developments, especially the events in the Palestinian territories.
Syrian media reported Monday that the talks, which the Syrian foreign minister Farouk al-Shara also took part in, covered the results of the current contacts being held on the international level, regarding the Arab peace initiative, which was approved in Beirut's Arab summit, according to KUNA.
In the meantime, sources in the Russian embassy in Syria said that special envoy of the Russian president to the Middle East, Andrei Vdovin will be heading from Latakia to Beirut later Monday, within the framework of his tour of the Middle East, KUNA added. (albawaba.com)
