ALBAWABA- In a pivotal move, the Senate is set to vote on a draft resolution calling for the withdrawal of American forces from Syria. Republican Senator Mitch McConnell voiced strong opposition, stating that such a decision would be a gift to Iran. 

McConnell argued that removing U.S. forces could embolden Iran-backed groups, potentially opening a northern front in the ongoing regional conflict against Israel. 

The pro-Iranian resistant groups in Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, and Yemen have recently intensified military actions against both American bases and Israeli occupation forces. 

This surge in attacks, with 78 incidents reported by the Pentagon since October 17, has resulted in 66 non-serious injuries.

The mounting security challenges have led the American administration to consider the possibility of withdrawing troops from Syria, raising concerns about the broader geopolitical implications.
