Senior management calls for corporate events to increase company profits

Staging targeted corporate events is deemed as one of the most effective tools to communicate with stakeholders and increase company profits, according to a survey commissioned by MVM Events Dubai.

CEOs and senior management, with event responsibilities, were surveyed and showed that 63 per cent would like to see less social events and more of a focus on corporate events in the UAE.  Over half the people surveyed judged corporate events, combined with public and media relations, as the most powerful tool to engage stakeholders and meet specific company objectives.

Three quarters of respondents outsource corporate events to a specialised company, such as MVM Events Dubai, to ensure objectives are met, events are run smoothly to plan, and above all, are kept within budget. A massive 86 per cent judged their event budget to be at the correct level, with a nominal 10 per cent believing that less money should be spent on hosting corporate events.

When asked how each respondent measured the Return on Investment (ROI) of their events, only 15% of those surveyed responded positively stating that ROI was calculated through customer feedback, increase in business and quality of attendance.  A staggering 85% of respondents noted that they do not measure the ROI of their events.

Nicky Duncan, director of MVM Events Dubai, commented: “There is an increasing demand for corporate events in Dubai, as companies realise the effect that a well put together day or evening affair can have on their business.

“As the survey illustrates, most companies do not know how to measure the ROI of an event and as a result tend to think that their outlay out-weighs return.  We can help clients measure this important statistic, by ensuring they carefully consider and meet their event’s objectives.”
