Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Airport Freezone has received an ISO 10002:2004 award for the Freezone’s efficiency in handling customers complaints.
The award certificate was handed over to Sheikh Ahmed by the Director of the Switzerland-based company SGS Gulf Limited in the presence of Dr. Mohammed Al Zarouni, Director General, Dubai Airport Freezone.
Dr. Mohammed Al Zarouni, said on the occasion, “Dubai Airport Freezone is keen to adhere to international best practices in its operations. We are a quality service provider to 1490 mostly multinational companies who expect nothing less from us.”
“We have implemented an effective and efficient complaints-handling process to further improve the quality of services that we provide to our international tenants and make them delighted.”
AL Zarouni said, “With the complaint system in place, tenants would have access to an open and responsive complaints handling process and enhance the ability of the Freezone to resolve complaints in a “consistent, systematic and responsive manner to the satisfaction of the complainant and the Dubai Airport Freezone.”
Recently, the Dubai Airport Freezone’s drive towards excellence has been rewarded when it won the Dubai Quality Appreciation Award last month.
He added, “This international standard ISO 10002:2004 provides guidance for the design and implementation of an effective and efficient complaint handling process for all types of commercial or non-commercial activity, including those related to electronic commerce.”
He asserted that the certification is intended to benefit Dubai Airport Freezone and its customers, complainants and other interested parties. “The handling of complaints through a process as described in this international standard can enhance customer satisfaction and improve domestic and international competitiveness as well.”
Dr. Shah UlMansoor, SGS, Director, Systems & Services Certification, said, “The Freezone has demonstrated customer focused approval to resolving complaints and encourages the personnel to improve their skills in working with customers during the audit. It was witnessed that there is continued review and in depth analysis of the complaint handling and customer satisfaction process.”
Dubai Airport Freezone has won many accolades for its high standards of excellence in facilities and services most of which are provided in a one-stop shop fashion and almost all its services are automated.
In the year 2002, the Freezone received the ISO 9001:2000 Certification and the ISO 14001 as part of its commitment towards the environment. In 2007 the Freezone achieved OHSAS 18001 for managing health and safety. The ICT department won ISO 27001 for information security as well.
Since 2006, the Freezone was winning on yearly basis MELA award –Middle East Logistics Award for best Free Zone in the region, while in the same year FDI –Foreign Direct Investment Magazine named it as the fastest growing Free Zone in the Middle East.
