UAE President Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan continued Wednesday to receive more congratulatory cables from world leaders on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the UAE National Day, reported the Emirati official news agency (WAM). The latest cables came from Libyan Leader, Col. Muammar Al Kadhafi, President Ricardo Lagos of Chile, President Tarja Halonen of Finland, Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, King Albert II of Belgium, President Saparmurad Niyazov of Turkmenistan, President Aleksander Kwasniewski of Poland, Arab League Secretary General, Amr Moussa and Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Conference, Abdelouahed Belkeziz.
Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, has also received similar cables from President Mahathir Mohammed of Malaysia and Hungarian Premier, Viktor Orban, said the agency.
Sheikh Zayed was re-elected head of the federation for a five-year term Sunday.
Sheikh Zayed was elected on the 30th anniversary of the UAE federation by the Supreme Council grouping the rulers of Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras al-Khaimah, Sharjah and Umm Al Qaiwain – Albawaba.com
