Seven people have been killed and five others injured in a shooting rampage in central Iran sparked by a noise complaint, Jomhuri-Eslami newspaper reported Monday.

The paper said Jamshid Soleimani pulled out his hunting rifle when his neighbor, accompanied by two police officers, appeared at his door in the town of Mahalat to complain over noise.

After killing the three visitors, he then turned the gun on his other neighbors behind the noise complaint, killing a woman and her children aged 5 and 7. Soleimani used the gun to commit suicide but not before five more people were hurt, including three policemen who intervened to stop the bloodbath, the paper added. It did not specify when the incident took place. (Albawaba.com)
