Six "terrorists" were killed over the past few days in the Relizane region of Algeria, 300 km to west of Algiers, according to the daily newspaper, <i>Quotidien d'Oran</i>. Security forces used the help of local informants to launch an ambush on the terrorists and in a subsequent chase to an abandoned house, the security forces killed the terrorists in battle.
The shooting and battles lasted several hours. The incident has reinforced the fear that the dark days of mass killings in violence in the country are not yet over.
