Al Baik, the Kingdom's favorite chicken and seafood quick service restaurant chain, is launching a campaign to stop customers from smoking on its premises. 'A New Goal...For A Better Life' was chosen as the slogan for the campaign to remind smokers that quitting their habit will make them feel better and live better. The message is reinforced by a cartoon character cigarette imprisoned in a stop sign. The campaign also signifies Al Baik’s continuous commitment to providing social programs that provide a better life for all.

The football themed campaign will kick off on May 31st 2006, which is designated as World No Smoking Day, and for a ten day grace period Al Baik staff dressed as football referees will hand customers who light a cigarette a yellow card warning them that smoking causes damage to their health, as well as to that of other customers. During this time all customers will receive a free gift pack.

From June 10th on, smoking will be banned in Al Baik restaurants and customers will be handed a red card informing them that, for health and safety considerations, Al Baik is now officially "Smoke Free".  The new rule applies to take-away customers waiting for their meals as well as to diners.

Al Baik receives more that 100,000 customer suggestions a year and it was decided to adopt a no-smoking policy after the majority requested a total ban.
