A woman farmer, 54, was killed by lightning while working on her farm in a village in the southern province of Bushehr, according to a local official on Tuesday.

The head of the province`s Red Crescent office, Parviz Moslehi, said that the woman, a resident of Faqih Ahmadan village near the city of Dashti, 85 kilometers southeast of Bushehr, was struck by lightning Monday while working on her farm, IRNA reported.

Earlier floods made it difficult to transport the woman to hospital for medical treatment. She died before she could receive treatment, Moslehi added.
