A study on "The Image of Spain in Morocco", carried out by the researchers Noureddine Affaya and Driss Guerraoui, in partnership with the Spanish Foundation CIDOB, discovered that 69.4% of the Moroccans have a positive image on Spain. The survey was based on a series of interviews with a sample of 1,031 people and a number of Moroccan experts.
The study also tried to explain the sources of this positive perception and reached the conclusion that one of the key factors in its creation is the successful Spanish effort to integrate itself into the European Union. Among the most remarkable impacts of this effort, according to the Moroccan public, were Spain's impressive development and its democratic transition.
