A Sri Lankan housemaid was stabbed to death by thieves who robbed her employer's home in an up-market area of Amman.
The murder took place on Tuesday in the residential neighborhood of Abdoun at a time the 30-year-old maid was alone in her employers' villa, the Jordan Times quoted officials as saying.
In its Wednesday edition, the paper said the maid was stabbed in the neck several times by a sharp object causing her death, the sources said.
Gold and jewelry worth some 1,600 dinars were missing from the house, the homeowners told police. No one was at the villa at the time of the incident except for the maid, the official source said. (Albawaba.com)
